Utah Ski Resort Trip in a Campervan

Winter road trip anyone? There are several Ski Resorts around the Salt Lake City area that require only a short drive to hit the slopes. Some of our campervans have built in heaters to keep you warm through the night. We also have AWD or 4x4 options so that you can easily navigate the snowy and icy roads to the ski resort.

Lodging can be expensive around these resorts during peak season and the thought of loading the car with enough room for gear and passengers can be daunting. Our campervans have plenty of room for your skis, winter clothing, and your mountain crew. You even can enjoy a midday nap and a lunch break in your heated van instead of hitting the crowded lodges.

Pick up your home on wheels from our Salt Lake City location and prepare to embark on a road trip to enjoy some of the best snow in the country! Here are some ideas of where to park your campervan near some of Utah’s favorite slopes:

Park City

  • Park City RV Resort: The closest RV camping is at Park City RV Resort which is 4 miles from PCMR and Deer Valley. They have laundry, hot tub, showers, etc.

  • Echo Island : This RV park is 24 miles from PCMR and Deer Valley. Similar amenities.

  • Mountain Valley Resort in Heber which is 18 miles from PCMR and 11 from the Deer Valley Jordan lift. This place is posh and even has an adult only section.

Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons (Alta, Snowbird, Brighton and Solitude)

There is only one really convenient place to stay on the east side in Salt Lake Valley but you get tons of options for skiing (four resorts) and even more options for backcountry skiing.

Mountain Shadows is in Draper which is really close to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons. They offer showers, hot tub, laundry and many other amenities.

The Rest of Utah

If you are looking for fewer crowds and feeling adventurous, head over to Eagle Point Ski Resort down by Beaver, Utah. They ask that people car camping in the lot ask first. Very few people go to this resort due to its remoteness and it is very quiet there.

Lift passes range from $50 to $75 but they are typically open only Friday to Monday; in past years they were open on days during the week with ticket prices as low as $25. This style of van camping would be a bit more committing since you wouldn't have access to a shower, etc.
