How do you Wander? Wandervans campervans provides adventure specific boutique campervans for your next adventure. We began with a passion for helping to get people into the outdoors at reasonable rates. We want to help you get out of the city and wander in the outdoors. Wandervans started renting campervans in June of 2016 in Boise, ID. We plan to expand to other locations in the future since there are many people out there looking to rent campervans.
Our campervans provide the sweet spot in between a cumbersome recreation vehicle (RV) and sleeping on the ground. We are always available to help you plan your next adventure. Are you unsure where to camp or stay on your way to your destinations? Just Contact Us and we can help.
Why the Ford Transit? The Ford Transit is new in the United States, but the design has been touring Europe for many years. In the US the Ford Transit borrows many drivetrain components from the Ford pickups and also the extremely powerful 3.5L Eco-Boost V6. Before 2015 Ford sold the ancient E-Series Vans. The E-Series drives like a Van out of the 90s and seems to lumber around the corners with ancient suspension and an outdated V-8 motor. The E-Series is truly a chore to drive in any condition when compared to the Transit. The Transit not only accelerates better, but it will out corner any E-Series. The Transit is simply a comfortable and confident ride that is extremely reliable and trouble free.
How safe are the campervans? The NHTSA gave the 2015 Transit high- and medium-Roof variants a four-star frontal crash and five-star side crash safety score while low-roof models have a four-star overall rating (out of a possible five stars).

August Johnson joined Wandervans in the Fall of 2016. August is a native Idahoan and graduate of Boise State University with a degree in Finance. August has been designing and creating for more than 20 years, with experience in custom furniture design, metal sculpture, welding, and contemporary modern art. That background is now being put to work to design unique bed frames and gear racks for use inside of our Camper vans. His goal is to design the most durable, yet functional bed frames that will allow renters to be incredibly comfortable, but still allow them to store and secure all of the necessary gear and toys inside of the van throughout their adventures.
August's outdoor interests span from snowboarding, fly fishing, traveling, and more. Recent goals include spending more time in the outdoors, visiting Yosemite, and enjoying tender moments with his newborn daughter.
